Who We Are
Ultra106five is Hobart’s Positive Media Perspective radio station. We have been broadcasting across southern Tasmania since 1980, now with over 45 years on-air we’re one of the oldest FM stations in Tasmania.
We’re passionate about building you up and supporting you on your life journey. We are proud to provide radio that is safe for little ears and you know that when you listen to Ultra106five you will hear a positive, uplifting message in our conversations, song lyrics and inspirational spots.
As a listener-supported station, you will hear fewer ads on Ultra106five than on commercial stations. You will also hear fundraising appeals a couple of times a year. It’s the generous support of listeners like you during our appeals that allows us to partner together and provide life-affirming and positive messaging to southern Tasmania every day.
Statement of Faith
Ultra106five is southern Tasmania’s Christian radio station. We believe in a Creator God who loves us, and who sent his son, Jesus, to die on the cross to take the punishment for every wrong thing we’ll ever do, and who rose to life three days later to make a way for us to get into the Great Party that is Heaven.
We also believe that God loves us so much that he wants to get to know us, and that He wants us to get to know him through prayer, through reading the Bible, and through going to church and meeting with other Christians.
The following Statement of Faith is from our constitution. It forms the basis of our organisation, and every member must pledge agreement:
Articles of Faith
Members of Hope Foundation Communicators Inc. (trading as Ultra106five) affirm and declare their belief in the Christian faith as set forth in the following essential articles:
- The Bible as the divinely inspired and authoritative Word of God.
- The triune Godhead in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit as Sovereign Creator and Ruler of the universe.
- The deity of Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, death, bodily resurrection, present exaltation at God’s right hand and his coming again.
- The reconciliation of man to God by the substitutionary death and shed blood of Jesus Christ, our saviour.
- Christ’s great commission to the church to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
