Dave chats with Launceston Coach Mitch Thorpe.

With a third of the 2019 Bupa Tasmanian State League season now behind us, attention now turns to round eight and what the remainder of the season will bring.

Launceston will host Lauderdale at Windsor Park on Saturday afternoon, with the fourth-placed Blues fresh from last weekend’s bye and the second-placed Bombers eager to bounce back after a loss to Glenorchy.

Tigers will be looking to take momentum out of last weekend’s big win over Clarence to UTAS Stadium, where Trent Baumeler’s side will meet the reigning premiers under lights.

Currently in fifth, the Tigers will be eager to record a shock upset and further establish a spot inside the top five.

North Hobart will host Glenorchy to round out the weekend’s action on Sunday, with the Demons coming off a gallant performance at UTAS Stadium last weekend, and the Magpies from a stirring win over Lauderdale.

The Demons took it right up to North Launceston, with a Colin Garland-led effort almost enough for Bear Robinson’s side to register a mammoth upset win.

Glenorchy, missing a host of stars, were impressive at KGV last weekend, running over the top of Lauderdale to inflict the Bombers with their first loss of the year.
