The daily program of events for this year’s Royal Hobart Show (October 20-23) is now
available online (https://www.hobartshowground.com.au/royalhobartshow). It will assist
showgoers as they decide what sessions to attend. Ticket sales are so far running about 200% ahead of online bookings in 2019 and 2018.
Mitchell Spong, Operations Manager at the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania, tells Dave it shows “that Tasmanian families, starved of entertainment events in these Covid- restricted times, are keen to live life as normally as possible.”
The most booked sessions at the Show this year are Saturday (Oct 23) – which is an all-day session, closely followed by Thursday (public holiday) morning session. A Government requirement for running the Show this year is that the Show occurs in sessions, with each session restricted to 5,000 people with everyone wearing a mask.
As a result, the RAST is asking people to go online to choose a session and buy their tickets
Wednesday October 20 will consist of one, day long session.
Thursday October 21 (public holiday) will consist of a morning and afternoon session, with the day extended until 7.00pm
Friday October 22 will consist of two sessions, with the second session extending into the evening, with the traditional fireworks to end the day
Saturday October 23 will consist of a one day session.
To encourage this, early bird discounts for online tickets have been extended, representing a 20% discount on tickets purchased at the gates.
There are six sessions in total over the four days of the Show, and the entertainment schedule is being organised so that each session includes all the major Show entertainment. The Show this year has been capped by the Tasmanian Government at 5,000 visitors per session (total 30,000 over the four days of the Show)
