Dave talks with Relationships Australia Tasmania Acting CEO Dr Michael Kelly about 2019, Neighbour Day addressing the impact that loneliness is having on our communities and celebrates the influence that we all have in building resilient connected communities.
Relationships Australia Tasmania’s Acting-CEO Michael Kelly said the theme for Neighbour Day is: ‘Loneliness – what neighbours can do to create connections’.
“Neighbour Day, which is celebrated around the country every year on the last Sunday in March and this year falls on Sunday the 31st, is an annual celebration of community.
Dr Kelly and Dave also discuss the Tasmanian LiFE awards which recognise a person, service, organisation or business that has made a difference to the lives of people and communities impacted by suicide in the State.
Winners are awarded $1000 to assist in ongoing Suicide Prevention initiatives in the categories:
- Outstanding Contribution LIFE Award (No sponsor)
- Communities in Action for Suicide Prevention LIFE Award
- Best Practice in Suicide Prevention in a Workplace LIFE Award
- Outstanding Contribution to Suicide Prevention by a Young Person LIFE Award
