Christmas can be a time of hardship for families and many children go without. We know it seems too early to be talking about Christmas, but it’s only 15 weeks away! We expect that we will see an increase in the numbers of families reaching out to us for help this Christmas, due to the extra financial strain that COVID-19 has put on so many families in our local community.
Hobart City Mission CEO John Stubley. tells Dave that 100 days out from C hristmas the Mission is  inviting local businesses in Southern Tasmania to run an in–office toy drive to collect gifts for children in need this Christmas.
Can you spare a small present to ensure kids of Southern Tasmania share in the joy of Christmas?
Due to COVID-19 we have had to think outside the (toy) box and this year we will have two options for businesses:
  1. Host a virtual (online) toy drive in lieu of a physical drive. Check out our Hobart City Mission virtual toy drive site HERE! If you choose to run a virtual toy drive, we can create your very own web page with your logos and wording of your choosing. There are many benefits to choosing to donate a toy virtually for the recipient, the donor and Hobart City Mission. Please watch this 2 minute video here to find out more!OR
  2. Host a physical toy drive in your office by gift wrapping a box and asking employees to drop their gifts in there – unwrapped!
Hobart City Mission can provide you with everything you need to host your toy drive, including a poster, flyers, social media images and a pre-written email to help you share the message.  All you need to do is promote amongst your staff!
