The results of Australian-first report into education, employment and social outcomes of deaf children has been  revealed on World Hearing Day.

Dave chats with Jim Hungerford, CEO of The Shepherd Centre who explains The announcement comes as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) continues to roll out in Australia, and reinforces the importance of maintaining crucial funding for early intervention services which continue to set deaf and hearing impaired children up for lifelong success.

The report highlights how early childhood intervention programs contribute to positive longer term outcomes for hearing impaired children as their adult lives unfold. It will show how deaf children, who receive early intervention therapy, surpass general population outcomes with high levels of education attainment, social participation and employment.
