For the Family

Dave chats with Brett Ryan from Focus from the Family on the for the Family segment this week: Making Good Decisions

Before making a big decision, make sure it’s you making the decision, not your emotions. There are good and bad times to make life decisions. And the worst time is during periods of emotional turmoil. Our moods can have a huge impact on what we say or think at a given time. When we’re feeling low, things may seem hopeless and desperate, and that’s not the time to decide something that may change our future. Other times our mood may be high and exhilarated, and that’s not a good time either. Neither extreme is based in reality. The best time to make a decision is during periods of calm and quiet reflection. Make sure you’ve considered all the alternatives and weighed your options. And once you’re moving forward, don’t be derailed by another round of emotions.
