The Hobart Zebras and Olympia Warriors are set to clash for the 2019 Women’s Super League title at KGV on Saturday. The title race has come down to the final day of the season, with the teams level on 47 points each as they prepare to meet in the last game of the year.

Dave talks with Zebras coach Chris Hay ahead of the match. The Zebras superior goal difference gives them the edge heading into the decider as they need just a draw to secure the title on that basis. To win the league Olympia would have to win the game, though that is something they have managed in their three previous meetings. The Zebras are yet to beat Olympia in 2019, with the three times they’ve clashed producing two wins to Olympia and a 2-2 draw.

Round 1: Zebras 2 –3 Warriors Round 6 : Warriors 2 –2 Zebras  Round 15 Warriors 3–0 Zebras

The most recent meeting was a thumping 3-0 win for Olympia, with Madison Chambers running riot down the left wing and causing all manner of problems for the Zebras defence. It looked like that result would send Olympia into the final day needing just the draw, but since that game, the Zebras have been in the better form of the two sides. They came through a tough month where they played Ulverstone and Kingborough undefeated, twice coming back from 3 goal deficits in that time.

It sets the stage for what should be an enthralling decider on the seasons final day as Olympia try to claim the title on their return to the WSL, whilst the Zebras look to reclaim the trophy they won in their undefeated season of 2017.
