Ralph Doedens, Acting CEO Crime Stoppers joins dave to explain the latest measure to encourage people to Dob in Dealer.
Drug dealers know no cultural bounds, so as part of its Dob in a Dealer campaign, Crime Stoppers has enlisted the support of the large and growing Tasmanian Chinese community.
The Chinese community in Tasmania now represents the third most common country of birth from outside Australia, behind England and New Zealand. Crime Stoppers has reached out to the Chinese community to better understand differences in culture, language and traditions and is promoting positive relationships with law enforcement.
As part of its campaign, Crime Stoppers has produced brochures in Chinese Mandarin to help share the message on how the Chinese community can report drug dealing activity anonymously. Cultural and language differences should be no barrier to interacting with law
enforcement agencies for all ethnic groups living in Tasmania, says Crime Stoppers.
