A Moment of Silence for the Iconic and Now Discontinued iPod

By: Steff Willis

Introduced in 2001, the iPod was the first MP3 player to boast 1,000 songs and a 10-hour battery into a 6.5-ounce package. Since its introduction over 20 years ago, the iPod has changed the game for people who love to listen to music on the go.

With the invention of the iPhone and now smart watches, the once revolutionary ‘1000 songs in your pocket’ iPod is now obsolete.

“Today, the spirit of iPod lives on. We’ve integrated an incredible music experience across all of our products, from the iPhone to

the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.”Customers can still purchase the current iPod touch through apple.com, Apple Store locations, and Apple Authorized Resellers while supplies last.
